Venue The Fir Tree

Info As May Morning falls on a bank holiday this year, we're making of the most of this excuse to join the May Day revellers instead of going to work! Inspired by Gareth Davies' impeccable taste in pubs, We've chosen a selection of some of the more quirky spots in Oxford to get us in the mood for the May Day festivities.

Get some sleep on Sunday afternoon and meet us at 9pm in the Fir Tree on Iffley Road. From there we'll go on to The Star in Cowley before ending up in The Half Moon where there will be a live folk session until 2am. After the Half Moon we will make our way to Hi-Lo (Oxford's legendary Jamaican bar) which is open until the wee hours of the morning. If we make it to 6am we will drag ourselves to Magdalen Bridge to witness the traditional singing from Magdalen College tower, then join the festivities, watch the morris dancing and grab a top notch breakfast from the Vaults Café.
